| The unit owners are entitled to attend all open board
meetings although they do not have the right to participate.& Many
boards do set aside time to recognize unit owners and provide a forum
for them to express their views to the board, although this is not
legally required.& The board must post notices of meetings of the
board of& managers in entranceways, elevators or other conspicuous
places in the condominium at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.& If
there is no common entranceway for 7 or more units, the board may
designate one or more alternative posting locations in the proximity
of these units.
Although some associations provide other means of notifying
unit owners of board meetings, the board is still required
to timely post notices of the meeting.
In any meeting in which the board considers the adoption of
a budget or special assessment, the unit owners must receive
written notice of the time, date, and place of such meeting
not later than 10 days but not more than 30 days before the
date of the meeting.& The board also must send a proposed budget
or assessment to the unit owners at least 30 days before it
adopts it.
